Trauma changes who we are.

Trauma is caused by any experience that you know is not okay, leaves you feeling unsafe, alone, overwhelms your nervous system. When it happens trauma can change how we feel, think, and move through the world. When those experiences aren’t met with enough support or understanding at the time they occur, they can stay with you—showing up in your body, emotions, relationships, and your sense of self. This can make it hard to feel safe, trust others, or feel comfortable being close and vulnerable in relationships, even when there is no immediate danger.

Healing from trauma is possible, but it takes time.

As a registered clinical counsellor with a master’s degree—and as someone with lived experience—I know that healing trauma happens gently and over time. Trauma therapy does not require reliving painful experiences. Instead, it focuses on building safety, self‑compassion, and the ability to cope with difficult feelings. Working with a supportive and qualified counsellor can help you better understand what you’re experiencing, reconnect with your strengths, and regain a sense of control in your life.

It’s never too late to begin your healing journey so please call or email for more information.
